There’s a homeless man

who wanders around Milledgeville constantly and he’s done so for as long as I’ve lived here. I always saw him walking around but I never really noticed him, sat down and thought about him and who he is as a person, until a very rainy day last year. Patrick and I went across the street to this large pavilion thing to do homework and it was pouring down rain, so the homeless man sought shelter in the same place we did. I never understood how someone could look so emotionless yet so emotional at the same time.

I still see him occasionally and yesterday I decided that since cold weather is coming up, I am going to go buy some large, thick men’s socks and a winter hat/beanie or two to keep with me. Then, whenever I see him, I’m going to give them to him.

I’ve never been so happy with an idea ever.
